Dictionaries for Tablets and Mobile Devices

Click right to download dictionaries for tablet or mobile devices. These are a copy of the web versions and will run locally on Tablets and Smart Phones (Android, Apple, Windows, Blackberry platforms). They are merely linked html files and hence can be easily read with a browser.  They are better viewed on Tablets than Smartphones and certain browsers work better than others. You may have to experiment.

Android OS.  Download and install ASTRO file manager from Play Store (Android Market). Then download the zipped dictionary file from the ausil.org.au site with your browser. Using ASTRO filemanager locate the zip file and open it. Then simply double click the index.htm file in the root directory. You may find the html viewer that came with your phone will not display correctly. If so simply download dolphin browser from Playstore and try again.

Pad/i-Phone OS.  Download and install File-App from the App Store (Free).  Then download the zipped dictionary file from the ausil.org.au site with your browser.  Open zip file and decompress with File-App. Then simply double click the index.htm file in the root directory.
